Multi Use Family Room

Extremely clear picture. Crystal clear sound. This sound is so clean, all details are heard. This sound so good it’s like you’re on the set. But that’s not all this room can do. A press of a button or a verbal command from the user sets the scene. The lights dim, the shades draw to a close, the AC unit changes to a comfy temperature. And just like that, it’s movie time.

Outdoor Automation

Say Hello to the Smart Home and these integrated systems. This home was automated in 2007 with virtually no wiring. Our team worked hard on this home to create a technology experience for the traveling home owners. The lights were most important so we started with the outdoor and perimeter lights to make it look like someone was always home. Next, we added a security camera system so the homeowner could keep an eye on the property when traveling. We coupled this system with a video doorbell so the customer would never miss a package or a visitor. Lastly, we integrated the irrigation (drip and sprinklers) systems and automated the home using a Savant as control. The home turned out as planned and most importantly, easy to use.

Lobby

This smart lobby has a lot going on. Our picture couldn’t capture it all. We have video wall but not a boring 2×2 but a Mosiac. The video wall plays a space theme this day and employees are productive with Bob Marley playing in the background. This company does not have a receptionist. They use an iPad upon entry. The customer uses the iPad to ring the person they are there to see. Around the corner is a wall pad to set lighting scenes, audio scenes, a smart thermostat and a security keypad to arm the alarm. The front door has Access Control so if you don’t have a badge with the right credentials, you’re not getting in! There are multiple HD cameras on the premises to ensure the property and its employees are safe.

We are also testing the audio in the microphone to make sure that everyone can hear it in back. There is a hidden gem here; all video and audio content is going to this company’s remote training team in Seattle, Boston and Chicago. It’s also being recorded for those who couldn’t make it or can utilize later. The lighting are biophilia/ circadian rhythm LED lights which change slowly through the day to keep attendees energized.

Control

What value is a system if it’s too complicated to use? An integrated home should be easy to use. All services are in one place for ease of use. If there are 3 or more remotes on the coffee table, a universal remote is needed. If there are 3 or more apps on the phone, a smart system is needed.
